Honestly I'm split. I've read some great stuff that has an OC with a canon character and I've read some horrible stuff with it too. Personally I don't like stories with it though, but if it pops up in a fic I'm reading, I try to give it a chance.

Well, I was asking because I have a character named Ai. She's part of the Sam. 7 world.
I only have a few drawings but the story isn't nearly finished yet. :/
Would you like to see them?

I will say that the timeline is both before and after*for a short period of time* the great war and before his ending.

His ending did feel rushed to me and sort of like a ploy to further force Katsushiro into growing up.

Same. Honestly, I feel like 'Hachi-dono could of stayed and Katsushiro would still be the same in the end.
His idol was Kyuzo after all. Caused more a shock then 'Hachi himself.

Yep and I feel they handled Kyuzo's death odd too. I mean, I buy that that scenario could happen but it still felt odd to me and more like again, it was to force Katsushiro to grow up/realise how dirty the world of war and warriors is.

Most definitely. Once I watched the ending, I immediately asked Greg about it but he didn't give me a full answer as to why they killed him off.

He did say that he enjoyed the character a lot and actually based his character kind of off a movie. lol

Yeah, it is but not that kind of movie.

Seven Samurai does have similarities to the show Samurai 7 but they felt that there had to be some comical relief. Something the movie lacked*in my opinion*. So when the anime aired, Greg gave Heihachi more of a Randall from Clerks to him. c:

That is true. Never really been a huge fan of Manga. Don't get me wrong, I love reading and all but it gets so boring after awhile.

I like manga, though there are some series that need to be an anime and some that need to be a manga, if that makes sense. The Samurai 7 manga though? It deserves nothing.
